Two heavyweights of the Scottish Trad Music scene, Rachel Newton & Lauren MacColl have combined together(not for the first time) on a project which is inspired by the infamous Scottish Witch trials and the persecution of the real women who were accused. The music is inspired by 10 stories from celebrated Scottish author Màiri Kiddis and accompanied by visuals by Alison Piper.

Piper & Flautist James Duncan Mackenzie from the Isle of Lewis releases his 3rd solo album - He is a former member of the folk band Breabach. Fìbhig has been written and largely recorded from his home over a two year period like no other. Named after a small village on the West side of the Isle of Lewis near where James lives. The tunes on the album are inspired by place, people and island life.

Rura are now firmly established(first formed in 2010) as one of Scotland's premier folk bands and their reputation means they are able to call on the likes of Ross Ainslie (Pipes & Whistle), Duncan Chisholm (Fiddle), Julie Fowlis(Vocals) Michael McGoldrick (Flute), & Hannah Rarity (Vocals) to contribute to this new album.

A debut Album from the exciting & recently formed trio Alice Allen(Cello), Patsy Reid(fiddle and previously member of Breabach) & Marit Fält(Nordic Mandola). The band takes its name from the Australian bush bird, the lyre bird and the album is a mix of Scottish & Scandi Trad combined with classical elements. The Trio will perform live at Celtic Connections 2022 on the same day as the album release.
