Duguld Buchanan (D'ughall Bochanan) was a gaelic speaking Bard & Preacher and lived from 1716 - 1763. Born in Balquhidder he spent much of his life as a School master notably in the Perthshire village of Kinloch Rannoch.
Buchanan's Diary, so-called, or his Confessions, was among the papers he left at his death in 1768. It was finally published in an English Version in 1836,
