A unique antique Scottish Victorian basket-hilt and targe shield Kilt Pin
This is a unique and rare antique silver kilt pin modelled as a Scottish basket-hilted broadsword with a targe shield inset with blood and hardstones. There is no hallmarking which was not an unusual for the Victorian period and it is dated around c1880.
On the reverse of the shield there is an inscription "From A Grateful little lover March 1883." As well as adding to the beauty of the Pin it also provides an accurate date to it.
Additional Product Information
On the reverse of the shield there is a Victorian diamond shaped lozenge registration mark which provides the fabrication date of 23rd March 1874.
There is a large pin on the back with a "C" clasp

This piece is in very fine condition for its age with some scratches comensurate with its age
