The author, Thomas Douglas Macdonald, adopted the pen name Fionn MacColla and was at the forefront the Scottish renaissance. This his novel about the highland clearances exploring the root causes and motives underlying this dark period of Gaelic culture in the North of Scotland.

A good copy - the dustcover has taken some damage but as a rare first edition its presence lends to its authenticity. The rest of the book is in very good condition. Ther is previous owner name in faded ink on the inside end-paper.
