This is a fine example of late Victorian publishing with stunning cover boards, gilt edged paper and packed with engravings based on drawings by the author.
The work relates the author's travels around Scotland in 1876 with illustrations on every page.
A handsome volume.
Condition Notes
Overall this Victorian volume is in fine condition.
The cover boards are clean and bright with a little staiining and rub, however the gilt titles, images and embellishments are excellent. There is some bumping and bruising along the bevelled edges and at the top and bottom of the spine.
The Book is still tight and the inside pages are bright and clean with nice gilt edging along the edges of the pages. There is the original owners name on the title page and dated 1878(see image). There is one image of Loch Maree on page 96 which is detatched but present.
