The author claims to have spent 15 years intensively researching thousands of letters and documents in order to uncover the real person behind the events of Scotland's most romantic period of history.

And so it remains an important book in the Jacobite bibliography.

Good overall condition - The dust cover has some minor tears and wear and tear along the edges as well as some fading on the spine but it has done its work and as a result the cover boards underneath are clean and tidy.

There is some age-related yellowing throughout the inside pages but they remain clean and bright.
