Condition Notes
This was orginally a "no expense spared" edition - full bukrum cover boards with gilt titles. The boards have suffered with some staining and fading as well as bumping along the edges and at the corners. There is some looseness in the overall binding.
The inside pages are on vellum paper and are gilt edged along the top. Despite the usual age-related tanning and soiling the pages remain bright throughout. There is the previous owner name and date in ink on the inside end paper.
All plates are present with tissue guards.
Despite the book's rarity the pricing is low as it takes into account the books overall appearance. However it remains an exceptionally fine edition.
