This was one of the first official recorded publications of Gaelic prose published in 1867.

Norman Macleod wrote prose dialogue, the còmhradh, or dialogue, which was a highly distinctive feature of the Gaelic literary landsape in the 19th century and which became the principal Gaelic prose genre for discussing land issues and politics during the turbulent Land Agitation years.

This edition contains a biographical sketch in English of the author at the start of the book written by his Son The Rev. Dr. Norman Macleod.

  • Condition Notes

A good quality edition with clean cover boards with just some light cloth blistering below the front vignette. The overall binding remains good and the inside pages bright and clean throughout with just normal age-related tanning. There is a previous owner name on inside front end paper.
