The book was promoted as a true picture of an non-idealised Highland way of life. The author Colin MacDonald was from a crofting community in Ross-shire. He was brought up in the real "Ceilidh atmosphere" , his parents' house being the Ceilidh house in the glen. After studying agriculture and went into the civil service as a senior technical advisor and then sitting on the judicial bench as Gaelic-speaking member of the Scottish land court.
Condition Notes
A well preserved book with the original dustcover that has some loss at the top of the spine however it is now well protected behind a poly-wrapper. Inside the pages clean and bright throughout.
