A handsome Quarto calf leather bound edition of Le Chevalier de Johnstone's memoirs of the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion in which he served as an assistant aid-de-camp to Prince Charles Edward and later escaped to France after Culloden.
It was originally written in French and deposited in the Scots College in Paris.
Condition Notes
Overall very good condition.
The leather binding has a number of scars but overall is bright and clean. The Spine is undamaged with bright clean gilt titles.
The inside pages are clean and bright with light tanning throughout and some staining around the edges of sheets.
