The book provides a detailed historical and architectural account of the Scottish town of Stirling, which was an important center of royal power and military activity during the medieval and early modern periods.

Ronald begins the book by tracing the early history of Stirling, including its establishment as a royal center by the Scottish kings and its importance in the Wars of Independence against England. He then moves on to discuss the town's development during the medieval and early modern periods, with a particular focus on the town's notable buildings and landmarks, such as Stirling Castle, the Church of the Holy Rude, and the Old Town Jail.

Throughout the book, Ronald provides detailed descriptions of the architecture and history of these buildings, as well as the lives of the people who inhabited them. He also discusses the various historical events and cultural traditions associated with Stirling, such as the annual Stirling Bridge Fair and the town's links to the Scottish Reformation.

"Landmarks of Old Stirling" is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history and architecture of Scottish towns and cities, particularly those with an interest in the medieval and early modern periods. The book is also an important work in the field of local history and a testament to Ronald's passion for preserving and celebrating the heritage of his hometown.
