This is a first edition E.J. Guthrie's culmination of fifteen years of study and travels during which she collected stories and reports of old Scottish customs and traditions that either had fallen out of fashion or were becoming obsolete. 

This is a rare Edition.

This rare edition is in good condition overall with some bumping and wear ariund all the edges of the blue cover boards but with a darkened spine.

The overall binding is strong and the inside pages are bright and clean and still offer a pleasurable read.

There has been a previous book plate at some point on the spare front end page and now there is a previous owner name in ink.
