An American published compendium of Scottish Poetry originally in 2 volumes then combined into this 3rd edition. Poets are many: Thomson, MacPherson, Ramsay, Burns, Scott, Leyden as well as nursery rhymes accompanied with romantic etchings. An interesting and rare edition.
Condition Notes
Whilst the book remains strong and well bound the cover boards have suffered some fading around the edges and the spine and the original blue has been lost. There is some gentle bumping and fraying at the edges and corners of the boards. Inside the pages are bright and clean throughout.
There is a written dedication on an inside spare title page from a father to his daughter and dated 25 Sept 1865 accompanied by an 8 line quote from Wordsworth
