The Maitland Club was a Scottish historical and literary club founded in Glasgow in 1828, to edit and publish early Scottish texts. Since the distribution of the publications was usually limited to members, the typical print run was between seventy and a hundred copies. The club was wound up in 1859, after publishing its own history as its 80th volume.
Condition Notes
The cover boards are in poor condition with parts of the spine missing.
However inside the pages themselves remain in excellent condition with some pages still joined showing that it has actually never been read. The book would therefore greatly enhance its aesthetic appeal with a new binding,
There is a previous owner book plate on the frontr left end paper as well as the engraved stamp of the Maitland Club and a list of the members to whom it weas presented.
