  • Additional Product Information

    William Drummond (1585-1649)

Drummond has long enjoyed a reputation as Scotland's foremost seventeenth-century poet. He wrote in English, not Scots, and is regarded as playing a major role in the Anglification of Scottish literature.

  • Condition Notes

This copy is in genrally poor condition with general weakness throughout. The leather binding has suffered considerably with some severe loss and fraying around the edges and at the corners and a complete split of the leather of the front board from the spine.

The poor state of the cover means that inside the binding has some looseness with some loose pages in the front. However the book is intact and the pages generally clean throughout with age-related tanning.

Given the scarcity of the book the price reflects the poor state of the book itself.

Please check the images associated with this Book to gain a clear insight into the book's condition and if you require further details please send an email enquiry.

  • Provenance

This book accries the book plate of Vivian de Sola Pinto (1895-1969).

He was a poet and literary critic and an authority on D. H. Lawrence and was a witness at the Lady Chatterley's Lover trial in 1960. He was also a close fiend of the WWI war poet Siegfried Sassoon.
