In the late 19th century the renowned Scottish photographer George Washington Wilson made a double series of hand coloured magic lantern slides of the Hebridean Islands - people, landscapes and seascapes. They are an extremely important visual record of the West Coast.
They were discovered by the author of this book in the basement of Yorkshire mill.
