This edition is considered the first attempt to present the complete works of John MacCodrum -Iain Mac Fhearchair in an established text and several of the songs appeared in print for the first time. Although it is also a bilingual edition the English translation is to be considered as an aid and not a substitute to the Gaelic text.
John MacCodrum - Iain Mac Fhearchair (1693-1779) was a Gaelic-speaking Bard and seanchaidh "who lived and died on the island of North Uist.
