About the Author
Joseph Irving, a Scottish journalist, historian and annalist. He was born in Dumfries in 1830 and died in 1891. He worked as a printer, editor, bookseller and writer. He wrote several books on Scottish history and culture, including The Book of Dumbartonshire (1879), The History of Glasgow (1879), and The West of Scotland in History (1885)
Condition Notes
With only 500 copies originally published this edition would normally command a higher price than we are offering. However although the book remains very usable and is intact in full with original cover boards and spine titles, the overall binding is very week and needs urgent attention to ensure it does not deteriorate any further.
