    This is the first critical edition of the songs of John MacDonald, the 17th century Bard of Keppoch. He was clan poet to the MacDonalds and many of his poems celebrate the glories and the achievements of the MacDonalds. He was an impassioned supporter of the Stuart cause and well versed in the politics of his day.

    The text is accompanied by a vis-à-vis translation into English and there are notes and a glossary. An important book fo Gaelic literature students. Many of the poems had not previously been translated into English before the appearance of this book.

  • Condition Notes

    A very good clean copy with some light fraying at the top edge of the dust cover and some light spotting but it has doen its job and ensured the reat of the book both the cover boards and the inside pages are clean and bright throughout.
